Born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh into a family of classical musicians, Zakir Khan is one of India's most commercially successful stand-up comedians, writers, and poets. He rose to fame after winning Comedy Central's India's Best Stand Up in 2012.

Khan pioneered the anecdotal, relatable Hindi storytelling format in Indian comedy, breaking box-office records with sold-out arena specials like 'Haq Se Single', 'Tathastu', and 'Mannpasand', and becoming the first Indian artist to perform a full Hindi solo show at Madison Square Garden.

In January 2026, announced an extended hiatus from live comedy (citing health and burnout) after final "Papa Yaar" tour shows through June 2026.
